The A2 English Test is one of the CEFR levels agreed by the Council of Europe and UK as an acceptable exam for further leave to remain or Visa extension candidates.
Purpose of A2 English language test: After two-and-a-half years in the UK, non-EEA nationals on the five-year partner or parent route looking for settlement are required to pass a SELT Exam in speaking and listening at A2 English level in order to qualify for further leave to remain, Visa extension, spouse/partner visa extension, family life as a parent (Parent of a dependent). The A2 GESE Selt Test is designed for this purpose.
A2 English language test is conducted to check the visa applicants ability to deal with simple, straightforward English language sentences and to see the Visa applicants verbal expressions for life in UK. The A2 exam is best designed to see these abilities.
the A2 test is to understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment). it also looks at applicants can communicate in simple and do routine tasks required. Applicants need to be simple and direct when they are exchanging information on familiar and routine subjects that are asked. Can the applicant describe in simple terms aspects of his/her background, immediate environment, and matters in areas of immediate need.
