A2 SELT – GESE Grade 3
This examination is a prerequisite for obtaining Further Leave to Remain (Visa Extension) in the following cases:
1. If you are the spouse or partner of a settled person.
2. If you are a parent responsible for a dependent.
Important Note: After residing in the UK for 2.5 years under the family route, you will be required to take the SELT ESOL A2 exam as part of your Leave to Remain application.
The test content is structured as follows:

Part 1: Providing personal information.

Part 2: Initiating or responding in two everyday situations.

Part 3: Providing information and listening to information.

Part 4: Listening, answering questions, and engaging in a discussion on a specific topic.
This online examination is conducted with a live examiner and takes place at a SELT test center. The test duration ranges from 9 to 11 minutes, and to pass, you must achieve a score of 60 out of 100.
Expect to receive your preliminary results via email within 15 minutes following the test. Confirmation of your results will be provided within 3 days.
Result and Certificate Information:
Following your test, you can anticipate the following:
1. Preliminary Results: These will be sent to your email address approximately 15 minutes after completing the test.
2. Result Confirmation: After a period of 3 days, you will receive a second email to confirm your result. This email will also contain your Candidate URN (Unique Reference Number), which is a crucial requirement for your UK visa application.
